Home ownership is expensive. The initial purchase of a home usually entails a mortgage from the bank that will last 15 to 30 years, but that large investment is only the beginning. Frequent or significant repairs are a major expense, and small problems that are left unattended to often times become large and expensive problems. Such is the case with the roof of a house. There are a large variety of things that can go wrong with a roof, but there are several problem areas that consistently seem to deteriorate or malfunction. Below is a list of possible problems that need to be fixed quickly by a professional Springfield roof repair professional.
1. If a roof leaks, no matter the type or composition, it needs attention.
2. If the seams are not properly cured on low sloping roofs, uplift can be a huge problem that allows in moisture.
3. Often times the main factor in a problem is poor workmanship. If you suspect this to be the case, get it checked out.
4. Consistent maintenance can lengthen the life of your roof, while a lack of it can cause major problems.
5. Pooling water causes damage. Roofs are designed to get rid of water as fast as possible to reduce exposure.
6. Punctures, either by the elements or by walking on the roof create weak points that can allow the weather in.
If you see, or suspect, any of these problems, call us and we can examine the roof with our trained eyes and advise you on the best course of action. When left uncared for, a damaged or faulty roof can give way to further damage not only on the outside, but on the inside of your home. A properly installed, well maintained roof will last for years, allowing you and your home to be safe, comfortable, and worry free.
Springfield Housing Market
Springfield, Virginia, has access to some of the finest roofers in the country. Because of this, the quality of roofs and, consequently, the quality of many of the homes in the area is seeing a turnaround from the housing market trends of recent years. Over the last year, the number of homes sold decreased by 15.3 percent, which could mean that either it is still difficult to sell or people are simply pleased with their current circumstances and are holding on to their real estate. Conversely, the average value per square foot is up 8.9 percent and the average selling price increased 4.1 percent over the same period. So, while fewer homes are being sold, those that are sold have been valued at higher rates. This implies that those living in Springfield wish to stay, and those moving there know how choice the city really is.
Springfield, Virginia is a suburb of Washington, D.C., making it a prime location for those who are either involved or interested in the political situation in the country. Inherent with the proximity is also the easy access to national monuments, historical sites, and governmental facilities. Since the opening of the Springfield Mall in the early 1970’s, the city has also been known as a major retail destination. Due to the mall’s age, it is currently undergoing massive renovations to and is expected to reopen in 2014 as the Springfield Town Center, featuring continued retail services, specialty restaurants, housing, and office buildings. The city is also in prime position to ensure easy transportation, whether travel is local or international, using three airports close by and three interstates that converge within the city limits. Commuting is easy, location is prime, and the real estate market indicates that the values of homes in the area are going to continue to rise.

I submitted an on-line request Friday 7:00 a.m., describing a leak around our skylight. We were contacted by Ken (owner) within 15 minutes of submitting our request. Ken arrived 30 minutes after his initial phone call. He assessed the leak around the skylight; his estimate was very reasonable. His team arrived on a rainy Friday afternoon around 1:00 and finished around 4:00. Since it rained the rest of the weekend the timing was great. I hope I don’t have any more leaks but if I do I will call Ken immediately. Dave H
